And It Began...

So the story goes that back in '68 maybe '69, work was being done on the roof of the little cottage.  Dad called down to Mum saying "Hun, you should see this view up hear!"  And a dream was born.  The decision was made to create a home from this little beach bungalow.  It made sense to them both to put work into the home that Dad already owned.  It would be an investment into their future.  The first step was to add a foundation to the home just as they were building the foundation of their lives together.  

Before The Raising

As I said in my previous post Bob's initial intentions when he purchased this little house was to have a get away.  Long before I was a twinkle in his eye much fun was had at this little cottage by the beach.  I heard many a story about times spent by the fire in the cottage with friends and family.  I'm certain my cousins could add to these stories and I would love to hear more.  For now I'll share with you a few photos of what the inside of the house looked like in the late 60's.  I am guessing that this was a time when the house was rented.  There is a crazy story about the end of that arrangement that I will certainly share at a later date.

In The Beginning....

So back in the mid to late 60's Bob found a little beach house miles away from his stomping grounds north of Boston.  He went to the local bank, raised the funds with the help of his brother and purchased what would start out a a beach house, hang out and all around bachelor pad.  Little did he know that he would meet the love of his life in this  beach community and that his pad would transform into a family home and provide safe harbor for many whom he loved.
